ABOUT

Hi, I’m Florian Kuhlmann — a creative mind, nerd, coder and artist from Düsseldorf, Germany.

I’m part of the last generation that remembers life before computers, the internet, and smartphones took over our lives. So, if you ever need stories about the “good old days” or help debugging your latest digital project, I’m your guy!

Currently I work as a software and tribe architect at Atruvia AG, where I am responsible for CMS, DAM, App and Crypto for the Volksbanken — Germany’s cooperative banks.

From 2002 to 2007 I studied audiovisual media with Dieter Jung, Hans Ulrich Reck, Frans Vogelaar and Peter Zimmermann at the Academy of Media Arts in Cologne. The focus of my artistic and professional research is digitality and its globalized, networked infrastructures — the internet — as well as the newly emerging contexts around it.

Along my work as artist, designer and curator, I ran the blog perisphere.de and #digital3mpire in Düsseldorf, Friedrichstadt — the first project space for digital art in the city.
