systematic landscape mints on Wednesday, 28 October 2026, 18:00 CET. 128 generative drawings, each drawn live in the browser from code stored in the contract on Tezos. 50 tez, up to five per wallet, and you choose your seed before you mint.

Signs without a system

The series takes the sign systems of technical drawing and treats them as a visual language of their own. Schematic, circuit board, chip floorplan, architecture diagram: these notations exist to rule out misunderstanding. They are normed, deliberately poor, endlessly repeatable, and over decades they have grown an aesthetic that nobody designed. The work asks what remains of such a sign when you take its referent away. A resistor symbol without a circuit, a dimension line without a part, a crow’s foot without a data model. The grammar survives, connection, direction, hierarchy, cardinality. The system it belongs to does not exist.

Every piece is therefore a system drawing of a system that does not exist. It illustrates no technology, and nobody could build anything from it. What becomes visible is the convention itself: that a filled diamond means something else than a hollow one, that line weight carries meaning, that a bridge over a crossing wire is a two-dimensional workaround for a three-dimensional problem.

Thinking without a place

The subtitle, distributed thinking, names a way of reading the finished image. Artificial intelligence has no single location. It spreads through the global systems like a virus and acts as networked thinking, in every circuit and every protocol at once. In each piece a grid stands for that thinking. Signals run along its lines, terminals mark where they arrive, and bridge boxes in mixed colours show where grid and drawing have begun to merge. Nothing spreads in the picture. The spreading has already happened.

The image is the work. Movement happens inside a standing picture: signals travel, layers change visibility, states flip. The making of the drawing is never shown. The piece exists as a running image in a browser and nowhere else. There is no print.

How the mint works

  • When: Wednesday, 28 October 2026, 18:00 CET (17:00 UTC). The sale is opened by hand at that time.
  • Where: on the drop page, floriankuhlmann.com/drops/systematic-landscape. There is no mint on objkt; objkt shows the tokens after they exist.
  • Edition and price: 128 pieces, 50 tez each. One public phase, no allowlist, no presale, no auction.
  • Limit: up to 5 mints per wallet, each with its own seed.
  • No blind mint: open the Playground, explore seeds and save the ones you like as favourites. On the 28th you connect a Tezos wallet (Temple, Kukai or Umami, via Beacon) on the favourites page and mint exactly those seeds. A seed can be minted only once; if someone takes it first, the page tells you before anything is sent.
  • After the mint: the token appears with its seed. The PNG preview and the live copy for objkt follow automatically, usually within minutes.
  • Royalties: 10 % on secondary sales.
  • Contract: KT1Xtuz8HJ4agyRtDWKnVfzN4vTowCWGnwi9 on Tezos mainnet.

What „onchain“ means here in detail, which bytes live in the contract and which on IPFS, is the subject of a second post.
