WTF?!
Tribute to Guy is a hybrid artwork: an NFT as artwork, and an artwork as NFT. It poses the question of what is original, what is copy, what the real image is, and what is only the likeness of the real, in a metamodern way. It is also a digital meditation on the dialectics of history, ideas, images and signs inside a spectacular economy.
Two prices, one hinge
Tribute to Guy drops in three lots: a free claim, a paid open edition, and a 1-of-1. Lot 02 and Lot 03 are linked through time: the open edition's price increases gradually, the 1-of-1 keeps a fixed price, and the open edition closes early the moment the 1-of-1 sells.
- The open edition starts at 0.0044 ETH and increases gradually.
- The 1-of-1 has a fixed price of 4.4444 ETH.
- The open edition closes early once the 1-of-1 sells.
- Maximum two tokens per wallet.
The spectacle

The journey follows the visionary mindset of the situationist artist and thinker Guy Debord. It is the first collaboration between Florian Kuhlmann and Flux Collective, and it began with an installation at NEONREAL Gallery in Düsseldorf in May 2023.
Three states of mind
A three-step drop of one NFT multiple, built from three individual but interconnected works: a journey through different states of mind and their corresponding digitally enhanced realities.
A Picture of Tribute to Guy IRL
The first drop is a free, open-edition claim: a physical picture of the work as it was installed at NEONREAL Gallery. The claim ran through the end of June 2023.
A Tribute to Guy WTF?!
A second, paid open edition, launched to give more context to the unique piece in Lot 03. The work itself is web-based: built in plain HTML, CSS and JavaScript, minted as an NFT on Ethereum and hosted on IPFS.

Tribute to Guy
A unique digital asset in the tradition of post-internet minimal art. The work carries a concrete political dimension too: it addresses the dollar as, for now, the most valuable sign in the world. In the work that sign already becomes a picture, and so becomes historical, the way a one-million-Reichsmark note becomes a picture once it hangs framed on a wall, worthless as currency but readable as history. Tribute to Guy places this inside the cryptocurrency systems now taking shape, and takes up the epochal shift happening in front of us.
